I've only heard the name of LinkedIn. From signing up, I feel like this site is used as a type of Facebook but for students, business and employment related things. If I wanted to find a job LinkedIn might be a good place to start. Showing others what I know and can do could be a great help for job seeking, as well as great for making connections. The positive reasons to use LinkedIn
If you're looking for employment you could use LinkedIn to make a profile.
Showcase your accomplishments and achievements.
You can use LinkedIn to store your contact info for others to utilize
Showcase and advertise a product/service for free
Send and recieve messages from others on LinkedIn
Keep up with news that's about companies, bussiness etc.
The issues faced when using LinkedIn
While scrolling through the news feed I was given "Jobs you may be interested in" although I've set my city to Adelaide, I was given job recommendations in places like Melbourne and Sydney, and not in Adelaide. Although the Jobs tab shows job recommendations for other cities as well as my own, it's still helpful but can be improved.
Unfollowing someone is difficult to find on a post, there's only a small "v" next to the post to unfollow them.
